Who was Arnold Jacobs?
Adam Mullen teaches the pedagogy of master performer and teacher Arnold Jacobs. Mr Jacobs was the principal tubist of the Chicago Symphony for forty-four years. He taught not only tuba, but all wind instruments, including voice. His teachings can be summed up in two words: Song and Wind— Hear the music in your mind, have a great buzz on the mouthpiece, and use great air! You can find more information at ArnoldJacobs.com.

Breathing Devices/Buzz Aids
Adam recommends these breathing devices: Inspiron, Breath Builder, Breathing Bag, and Voldyne. For buzzing, Adam recommends the buzz aid and buzz rim. They can all be found at Wind Song Press. These devices can be tremendously helpful in improving breathing and buzzing, which are key aspects of brass playing.
